My 57 Yr Old Mother Is Dying Of Cancer?

and I don’t have the courage to say goodbye. The doctor told us to say whatever we have to say while she is still alert, but I can’t do it. I ‘m in denial. I can’t sleep, I haven’t been to work in a week, but I am eating like there is no tomorrow. I’m on antidepressants, anti-anxiety and migraine medication. The only thing that helps me is going out w/my friends and drinking and partying. I feel guilty having a good time but it’s the only thing I have energy for. I can’t imagine my life without her and hope someone out there who has gone through this can give me words of encouragement.

How Much Weight And How Fatigued Would One Be If They Had Stage Iv (any) Cancer?

Had a little scare a while ago. I must have had some bug because I’d be getting up around 10 AM and going to bed around 9 PM (albeit laying in that bed in between). I’ve since gotten better, still feeling fatigued though (probably from all the anxiety). I’m able to stay up for 15 or 16 hours with caffeine. I also lost 5 lbs in a week, getting down to 150 at lowest, but I’ve been gaining a little weight since my appetite returned a few weeks ago (around 3 lbs). The only medication I’ve been taking is Tylenol to soothe some of my tension headaches. If I had metastasized cancer, would I be feeling even more fatigued and be losing even more weight? I’m an 18 year old, 5′9″ male, and my weight seems to be healthy for my age and height.

I Started Having Panic Attacks After My Mother Was Diagnosed With Cancer?

Even though for years now i’ve suffered with anxiety and depression my mother was recently diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer and now I feel like i’m suffering from horrible hypochondria. I’ll start shaking one day for one reason or another and an hour later i’m convinced I have some horrible degenerative disease. Or I feel a bump on my head and i’m convinced its a tumor. The feelings are so intense that I feel like i’m going crazy. Is this normal for me to be feeling this after what I found out?
Should I see a psychiatrist? If so, what kind of medication will they want to put me on?

Do My Symptoms Match Up To Any Types Of Cancer?

I am thirteen years old and I have been sick for around six months. I have had tons of neusea, dizziness and I get headaches constantly, I usually get them in the morning and then they will get better through the day or it will just be a big light headed headache that lasts for about ten seconds. I get some really bad stomach aches and sometimes I feel very weak but then that turns on and off. And finally I show up with bruises out of no where but that may not be me getting sick. I went to the doctor around four months ago and took medication from what they thought I had a sinus infection, I took it for about 4 weeks and went back they said it was completely gone. I started getting all the symptoms and now my family thinks the doctor’s are wrong. Should I get a blood test and are these symptoms for some types of cancer? I know it probably doesn’t but the more I read about it the more worried I am. Thanks so much. =]

Looking For Advice On Coping With A Loved One Who Has Terminal Cancer?

My Grandad was diagnosed with progressed Cancer of the liver, lungs and bowels in April 2007. When he was diagnosed, he was given literally just months to live, however, he has been lucky enough to have beaten this ‘time limit’ and has lived a relatively pain free life for 1 ½ years.
Recently in the last few weeks he has lost a lot of weight, and hasn’t been eating as the tumour in his Liver has become so large, that there is no room in his stomach. He has been admitted to hospital, where he has been given all the nutrients he needs and pain relief medication. Whenever I visit him, he tells me he’s feeling better and tells the family he’ll be out soon, in time for xmas, although I can see through every visit that he’s getting worse and worse. He’s stick thin, and suffering with jaundice, with a stomach the size of a pregnant woman where the tumour is swollen. He is dehydrated because he cannot retain any water or nutrients due to being ill all the time and cannot keep food down, despite everything the nurses are doing.
We have known for a long time that he was going to deteriorate at some stage and have had time to somewhat come to terms with the future outcome, as he has too, but as he has deteriorated recently, it fills me with discomfort, not knowing how far this disease has progressed within him, as doctors are never accurate and he is so brave and hides his pain so well. No one knows how much more he will deteriorate in the future, whether he is feeling better or just putting on a brave face, or how much more suffering he has ahead of him.
I’m wondering if anyone else out there has experienced a relative or friend with terminal cancer of a similar sort and the degenerative stages that the person went through. In a non morbid way, this will help me as it means I can be more aware of what stage he is at now and how much longer he may have to suffer so that I can face the future with an element of reality. I’m not necessarily looking for sugar coated answers. It would fill me with some comfort to know from a factual point of view so that I know what stage he is likely to be at now, and what he faces ahead of him, and prepare for the future deteriorations, and come to some sort of peace with the present and future situations I will be in.
Mature responses only please, at this difficult time.
Thanks x

Do You Have Hpv Or Cervical Cancer????????????????

I have HPV. I also have abnormal cells of the cervix. The reason I havent been to the Dr. more often to keep updated on my condition is…….lack of insurance or none whatsoever. I believe that 99% of women wouldnt have to go through what I am going through if they had adaquet insurance. Did you know that not all HPV patients have contracted this STD through sex. My case is different as I am sure yours is too. I was born in the 70s to a mother who had the virus. Ultimately having her cervix froze and receiving some type of medication that doesnt prevent it from transferring to any future children you may have. So here I am 30 years later with HPV. I am so thankful for my daughters sake that there is a vaccination for her. It will prevent most common HPV and cervical cancer. What is your story??
