I’m moving to San Jose this summer. By the time I move, I will have 8 years experience in hospital inpatient pharmacy. I am also nationally certified now. What is a reasonable amount to ask for when filling out applications? Right now I live in Mississippi and am only making about $12.50 an hour after adding my shift differential. Everywhere I have looked online has given me a different amount ranging from $8 an hour to $72,000 a year. I assume neither is correct. If anyone has any suggestions on what is a fair amount to ask, I would be very grateful.

I am considering it as a part time career.
Did you go to school online, or through a tradtional career school?
Do you like it?
Did you sit for the national certification?

Choosing Between Pharmd. And Pharmacy Technician In Stl, Mo?
I’m currently attending a state U in PreMed but have been wanting to get onto a Pharmacy track. However there are only 2 pharmacy programs in MO and they are both 6 yr tracks for those out of HS. I hope to transfer to STLCOP but I know they don’t accept very many transfers.
Would it be tough switching to pharmacy tech after my second yr at the state U? I’m not sure if it’s an undergrad program or not but I’d plan on doing it online so I can hold a full time job. Aside from the salary dif, can anyone tell me what would be a better idea?
My other choice is to finish my bachelors in chemistry and apply to a school over in IL but I’m not sure if I want another four yrs living away from home. Moving back and forth is a hassle. Any advice would be wonderful!
Is A Certified Pharmacy Technician And Arizona Pharmacy Technician License The Same Thing?
The job that I have been applying for specifically state that the jobs require BOTH Certified Pharmacy Technician AND Arizona Pharmacy Technician License. Aren’t those the same thing? I passed my PTCB course and test in AZ and I thought that was the only licensure course I could take. If it is the same thing, why do they list them as 2 separate job requirements?
Should I list both in my resume then? I was told a lot of online applications are searched by a machine and they simply sort through them based on which resumes have the correct keywords. If so, anyone know what “key words” I should be using in my resume?
Thanks in advance!

Pharmacy Technician Jobs?
Ok my mom is a pharmacy tech, she didn’t go to school for it but learned from working at cvs, passed the test to be certified. You don’t have to have schooling for it if you know what your doing and can pass the test, but im going to school for it. Is it worth it, because I went online and they say you make only like 25 thousand a year. But you can make like 14 an hour working at the pharmacy in the hospital, so how is that possible? anyways, is anyone going to school for this or is already a pharmacy tech and is it worth it later on?

I Can’t Find A Job As A Pharmacy Technician?
Hello everyone. I am a 26 yr old black male in Seattle, ex military. I am in a very bad situation. I just finished the pharmacy tech program at PIMA medical institue in Dec. 08. When I did my externship at Walgreens, they hired someone who did not even have any pharmacy experience at all, while I was in awe thinking, Hello Hire me, the aspiring pharmacy technician!!!! It can’t be that they don’t want to train new people, because the guy was brand new and had to be trained on everything just like I did. It is so unfair. I am now in debt to PIMA for $7500. I just took the PTCB exam and passed, thinking it would be easier to find a job. I have put in resumes online to bartell’s and a few other places but I never get called back. I even try to look online but in the Seattle area, there doesn’t appear to be any retail pharmacy tech openings, the only jobs I ever see advertised are Hospital. It’s like there are no jobs in retail. I want to start off in retail pharmacy and move up to hospital. I have to get experience first but I can’t even find a job with certification and having completed formal training. Now I feel like I wasted my time going to school and my money and I blame myself, not the school. I feel like I made a bad career decision. Any tips out there to get a retail pharmacy tech job?

Want To Be A Pharmacy Technician.?
I live in Chicago Illinois and I’m currently completeing my prerequisites to attend pharmacy school. In the meantime I would like to work as a pharmacy tech to get familiar with the job profession. I’ve tried getting a job with Walgreens/CVS because I know they train you but I haven’t had any luck. So I was wondering what can I do to get my pharm tech license. What kind of schools can I look into? I would really prefer not to do online classes.
